Table 10 restaurant is well known to and popular with the residents of Sale. It is situated within a row of shops restaurants and takeaways at the start of Northenden Road.
The restaurant is within easy walking distance of Sale Metrolink station so once more we availed ourselves of the convenience of the tram and the joys of both being able to fall into the arms of Bacchus.
We arrived quite early, and soon after the restaurant quickly began to fill up.
The two young ladies who were providing us with service were both polite and cheerful. They quickly found us a table, and, importantly, a wine list.
The menu came on a blackboard, which would indicate it is refreshed each day. We ordered a bottle of Chilean Merlot and a jug of iced water
I ordered the fried tomato and tarragon soup to start with. It was very good, with that sharp piquancy one gets from well made tomato based soups. My partner had deep fried goats cheese. This too was well done, crisp on the outside and runny in the middle.
I ordered breast of duck for my main course and here I was a little disappointed. It looked like the duck breast was sliced and warmed on the grill. It had caught on the edges, leaving a slightly burned taste. My partner ordered monkfish and came in a nice seafood sauce. This was delicious and I was envious. Both dishes were accompanied by bowls of fresh vegetables.
The dessert menu came on a different, slightly smaller, chalk written blackboard. For dessert we both had bread and butter pudding with fresh cream, which had that ’like mother used to make’ quality about it; very tasty and hugely filling.
The bill came to £60, which is fair value for this area.
There seemed to be a lot of local clientele in Table 10, and they were all enjoying their evening.
Will we return?
Yes, this is well worth another visit.
