Mimi Restaurant is located directly opposite Sale Town Hall and very close to Sale Metrolink station, which was our chosen mode of travel.
I noticed the attractive advertisement for Mimi’s Restaurant in the inaugural edition of the new Sale and Ashton Village Handbook and thought this would be an excellent venue for a leisurely business lunch.
There were two pleasant waitresses on duty who took our coats and seated us by the window where we could watch the world go by. We were quickly furnished with menus, a jug of iced water and a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
The à la carte menu is a revelation with the most comprehensive selection I have seen in this area. There is a choice of no less than twenty one starters!
We ordered Bruschetta to begin. It was very good, made with tasty tomatoes, fine olive oil and a little salad on the side for dressing and taste.
For the main course we both had Pollo Boscaiola. This is chicken breast cooked in red wine, onions, mushrooms, fresh peppers and tomato. This was accompanied by a dish of well cooked fresh vegetables. Splendid!
We thought a bottle of Italian Merlot would be a good choice to wash this delicious offering down.
The dessert menu is also extensive. The apple pie wasn’t available so I had home made cheese cake and my colleague had hot chocolate fudge cake and cream. They were both attractively presented and very tasty.
This was an excellent meal delivered with prompt, friendly service. The bill came to £66, which, considering £25 of this was for two bottles of wine, is very good value.
There is also a three course lunch offer for just less than £10 and an Early Bird menu if you eat between 5.30 and 7.00 pm.
Will we return?
Absolutely!
