EGYPTCruising down the Nile... The world’s largest open - air museum

I travelled down the Nile from Luxor to Aswan on a seven night cruise in April, and would totally recommend this as an excellent introduction to Egypt.

A cruise gives you the best of both worlds; the amazing sites are included in the price - Luxor and Karnack Temples, the decorated tombs of the Valley of the Kings, plus the temples at Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae. I found the Egyptologists guides extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

After a few hours sightseeing, you can relax on the sundeck around the pool, watching the timeless life along the banks of the Nile.

After a strenuous day I had a very relaxing massage which was excellent value for money.

The food on board is plentiful with lots of choice and as all meals are buffet style, you can always go back for more! Cleanliness is of paramount importance with hygienic gel dispensers at the entrance to the restaurant & lounge bar. There is nightly entertainment: Belly Dancers, Nubian Dancers and Musicians, plus the legendary Galebeya Party Night, which is a party where you can dress up in traditional Egyptian Costume, surprisingly, I was soon getting into the swing of things and haggling with the stallholders for my costume! The evening was tremendous fun!

My lasting impressions were the magnificent sights and sun drenched scenery and the friendliness and helpfulness of the Egyptian people and how welcoming they are.

Do consider a Nile Cruise, you will not be disappointed.
