Cruise2011 has been an exciting year for the Cruise Industry, with the launch of several new ships and the maiden season of the world’s largest passenger ship - Allure of the Seas, which has seven different neighbourhoods on board as well as the first park at sea.

River Cruises have not been left behind either. There are brand new ships sailing on the European Waterways - state of the art in design with full size verandas - something the older river cruise ships do not have.

There has been an increase in ships sailing from UK ports - to the Baltic, Mediterranean, Canaries and Transatlantic. Fred Olsen in particular is using six different UK ports. Many people prefer this as there will be no flights involved. Many of the cruise lines run coaches directly to the ship or offer free car parking at the ports. Some even transport baggage from home to the ship, making your own journey to the port that much easier.

Many Cruise Lines now offer 3 or 4 nights, ideal as a short break or a taster cruise for people who have not cruised before. They represent extremely good value and always sell out quickly. It’s a great way to arrive in a city, such as along the canals in Amsterdam.

With our special offer fares - maybe 2012 is the year to cruise.
